Masshole Marines & Masshole Veterans is a registered 501(c)(3). Our mission is to reduce veteran suicide by utilizing social media as a tool to connect veterans with the proper resources, tailoring each approach to the individual veteran.
In 2016, Masshole Veterans, then Masshole Marines, started as a Facebook group with only 100 members. The group was intended for Marine Corps veterans of Massachusetts. Since then, we have grown to well over 2,000 members all throughout New England and include veterans of all branches of service.
We host numerous events throughout the year, all funded by individual veteran member funds. These events a great outlet and resource for veterans to connect back into the community, giving them the camaraderie they had once felt while in the military.
In addition to social gatherings aimed at moral and wellness, we host several charity events throughout the community. We also assist individual fellow veterans and their families on a case-by-case basis. Over the years, there have been numerous lives saved and improved. This has been accomplished by individuals offering their own area of expertise, life experience, profession, and in some cases, assisting fellow veterans in need with funds.
Through the network we have provided, we have been able to improve the quality of life for numerous veterans by providing employment, emergency financial assistance, housing, drug and alcohol treatment programs, transitional assistance, and general life guidance.
